In 1993 the Biassoni family took the leap and decided to open their restaurant in the middle of Umhlanga Rocks. The outcome was promising and from the first day onwards, the delicious Italian style food, attentive service and, family friendly vibe attracted both local and tourist support. The restaurant prospered through the years and three generations of the family came together to run the restaurant and give life to the name Angelo’s In 2018 Danny Amaral and his wife Charmaine took over the reins and along with keeping the original and best loved dishes from the Italian style, added their own Portuguese flair and ensured that the Mediterranean aspects of their heritage were celebrated both in the menu and the ambiance of the shop. Danny has fond memories of food from his childhood, seated at his grandmother’s kitchen table and enjoying the rich and spicy flavours of her home cooked food. He relishes in Mediterranean and Portuguese flavours, and the Portuguese elements from his experiences have been adopted into our cooking. Aside from our usual fare of pizzas and pastas, we offer a wide range of seafood, grills and other Mediterranean style fare to suit any diner. Charmaine and Chef Nicole run the kitchen, ensuring that each dish served is wholesome, tasty and filled with love. We aim to please and encourage our customers to give us feedback on every meal prepared. Our kitchen staff boast over 35 years of collective experience in Italian cuisine and will ensure consistency across our menu.
